Peter G. Bourne, MD. was a Captain in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967 assigned to the Walter Reed Army Institute for Research. He served for one year in Vietnam (Where Observations On Group Behavior - Special Forces "A" Team - Under Threat Of Attack was done) as head of the Army's psychiatric research team, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Combat Medics Badge. His research on the psychological and physiological aspects of combat stress is considered classic in the field of psycho-endocrinology.

Peter G. Bourne is now  Chancellor of St. George's University in Grenada and has had a distinguished career as a doctor, civil servant, diplomat (he was appointed the President's Drug Czar and Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations among other notable positions; I know him as Chairman of the Global Board of Directors of  The Hunger Project and author (including a bio of President Jimmy Carter, a personal friend). Information furnished by Murray Brown
